Report: Microsoft to Shake Up CE Division
Microsoft is planning a management shakeup in the division that focuses on gaming and mobile devices, several media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, are reporting.
The shakeup is expected to include the departure of chief experience officer/chief technology officer J Allard, among others. The move follows the recent cancellation of the company's Courier tablet, which was to compete with Apple's iPad.
Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division oversees most CE hardware functions within the company, including the Xbox gaming platform, the Windows Phone operating system, Windows Media Center and the Zune media player. Robert J. Bach is the division's president.
