Microsoft Profit Rises 31 Percent
Microsoft said Thursday that its third quarter profit had risen 31 percent to $5.71 billion, on profit of $16.43 million.
The company also said that it has sold 350 million licenses for Windows 7.
“We delivered strong financial results despite a mixed PC environment, which demonstrates the strength and breadth of our businesses," Peter Klein, chief financial officer, said. "Consumers are purchasing Office 2010, Xbox and Kinect at tremendous rates, and businesses of all sizes are purchasing Microsoft platforms and applications."
