Microsoft Pulling Away From CES After 2012
Microsoft said Wednesday that the company will no longer deliver keynote addresses or feature a booth at International CES. Next month's opening keynote by Steve Ballmer on Jan. 9 will mark its last.
The company will still participate in CES after 2012, "as a great place to connect with partners and customers across the PC, phone and entertainment industries," Microsoft posted on its official blog. But keynotes and booths will no longer be part of its presentation. The company will remain a member of CEA as well.
Keynotes delivered by the company's founder and chairman, Bill Gates, were a major part of CES for many years until the final one in 2008.
