Microsoft Moves Beyond Vista
Microsoft has demonstrated the next version of its Windows operating system, which will be called "Windows 7." The OS will not be called Vista, effectively bringing that brand to an end after just two years.
The software giant, the New York Times reported Wednesday, introduced Windows 7 at the Professional Developers’ Conference in Los Angeles. it did not announce when it would begin selling the new system.
The version presented to developers was described as "pre-beta." Microsoft will also reportedly introduce a Web-based version of Microsoft Office.
