Microsoft, Samsung Plan Tablets
Both Microsoft and Samsung Thursday announced plans to introduce tablet devices to compete with Apple's iPad in the burgeoning category.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, according to the AP, told an annual analyst meeting that the company is working with Intel on such a device, with the idea of bringing the product to the market "as soon as we can." He added that competitor Apple has sold "more of [the iPad] than we would like."
Samsung, meanwhile, said that it will launch an Android-based tablet, to be introduced "this quarter," according to Reuters.
