Microsoft Announces Windows 7 Pricing
Microsoft Thursday introduced pricing information for the upcoming Windows 7 operating system largely in line with prices for Vista- and offered free upgrades to those buying Vista machines between now and the release in October, the AP reported.
Upgrades for existing customers to the Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate versions of Windows 7 will cost $120, $200 and $220, respectively. The latter two prices were the same for Vista, while the Home Premium edition cost $110. From-stratch installations will cost $200, $300 and $320.
The company will also cut the price to $50 and $100, respectively, for Home Premium and Professional for those who pre-order, starting Friday and continuing through mid-July.
