First "Windows Phone" Smartphones Arrive
Microsoft this week marked the debut of several new mobile phones featuring the new Windows 6.5 mobile operating system. Phones are arriving now from AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint. The phones mark the debut of the company's "Windows Phone" branding.
The first phones, available today, including AT&T's HTC Pure and Verizon's HTC Imagio, with the Samsung/Sprint Intrepid set for next week and the HTC Tilt 2 coming in the next few weeks, from AT&T.
"We all want to connect quickly to the people and information that's important to us from across our lives at work and at home," Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in a statement. "A Windows phone lets people take their entire world of digital information, communications, applications and entertainment with them wherever they go."
