Taking a New Road
Recognizing the changing economic landscape, Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for Pioneer Electronics USA’s mobile division, unveiled what the company envisions for the immediate future, which is all about connecting consumers’ various media devices inside the automotive environment.
At the heart of this strategy is Pioneer’s Platform for Aggregation of Internet Services, or PAIS, which provides users with one account but offers many services for a variety of devices.
Pioneer’s strategy is based on addressing four customer segements, Cardenas said. One is the “replacement” consumer, users that are interested in adding features to their car’s media devices, including iPod interfaces or upgrading speakers.
