Building Quality Sound
It seems that just about everyone in the mobile electronics community today is discussing a back-to-basics approach to superior sound quality. In the heyday of car audio competitions, it was common to see installers compete in the pro and expert classes of the car audio sanctioning bodies, not only for themselves but for the pride of the store’s team.
Pioneer has rekindled the spirit of those days by spearheading a campaign to host a Consumer Awareness summit—along with industry stalwarts Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion and Directed—with a special build-off for its Pioneer Premier brand dealers. About two-dozen Pioneer Premier mobile electronics retailers across the country recently took the manufacturer up on the offer and traveled with their most impressive work to San Diego to compete for $10,000 in last month’s Pioneer Sound Build-Off Competition. Sure, the money was a sweet draw, but Pioneer knew the real lure was giving 20 retailers the chance to showcase quality audio and rejoice in the camaraderie that develops when enthusiastic installers work together on a killer install.
