Mohu Recalls all BeBox Smart Boomboxes
Late Wednesday afternoon, Dealerscope learned that a product we’ve covered on these pages and spoke many praises about is being recalled. Mohu, the company behind the 21st Century BeBox Smart Boombox, was forced to recall the product after one of its units caught on fire during an unmonitored test.
In a statement emailed to Dealerscope, Mohu said that the cause of the failure is still unknown at this time, but the fact that there is a danger of overheating and/or the product catching fire, which could result in significant property damage or harm to the user, forced them to make the decision. The issue affects all models and serial numbers of the Mohu BeBox.
“As the safety of our customers is always our primary concern, Mohu is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to voluntarily recall this item and remove it from the market,” Mohu said on its website. “In the meantime, please do not use the product. Unplug it from the power source and power the unit off. If you are a retailer, please discontinue selling the product and contact your Mohu representative.”
