Monster Debuts Portable DJ Controller and Production Studio
Monster is pushing its audio line in a new direction with the launch at IFA Berlin of Go DJ (code name), a portable DJ controller and music production studio that will retail for $600. Head Monster Noel Lee will make the official announcement during his keynote speech on Saturday.
The device weighs about 11 ounces and can fit in a coat pocket. Two three-inch screens display virtual turntables and other functions that allow DJs to scratch, loop, break, sample and record. Musicians can also access a virtual synthesizer and input live instruments. The sound is controlled with an integrated equalizer.
The battery life is 12 hours and 24 hours on standby. The device has 4 GB of storage and can scale up to 32GB. It’s expected to hit the streets in two to three weeks.
