Monster Unveils High-End Accessories
Looking to provide custom installers and retailers with a broader range of high-end and greener accessories, Monster yesterday unveiled a new line of home networking and power products.
Head Monster Noel Lee kicked off the announcements with the Digital Express PowerNet 200, an HDMI home entertainment distribution system over existing wiring, which he billed as delivering “Ethernet anywhere” throughout a house.
Scheduled to ship next month with a retail price of $149.95 or $289.95 for a one-pair package, the product is designed to bring high-speed connectivity to a home network without having to install new Ethernet cables. Lee explained that demand for these types of products is driven by new IP-based and streaming products, such as DMA devices, connected DVD players and multimedia PCs. The PowerNet 200 is based on Intellon’s IC chipset, a Home Plug AV-based solution with PHY-rates of 200 Mbps.
