More HDTVs in Conference Rooms and PC-Driven Media Centers, Says Pacific Media

According to the initial results of Pacific Media’s annual North American Reseller Survey, the HDTV market is expected to grow in two key ways over the next year. HDTVs connected to media center PCs are expected to be a more common occurrence, tripling in frequency between 2005 and 2007. The hospitality market is the other big push, according to Dr. William Coggshall, founder and president of Pacific Media, “Although in-room viewing for hotel guests is clearly the largest portion of the hospitality market, we were very surprised by initial survey results indicating strong sales for use in meeting room and conference facilities.” Twice as many meeting and conference rooms are forecast to have HDTV displays in 2007 as 2005, though projectors are anticipated to hold a two-thirds share of the market.
