More Mixed News on Consumer Confidence
The consumer confidence numbers for the month of May once again told a conflicting story, as the Conference Board's number reached a five-year high, while the Consumer Electronics Association's measures found confidence dropping slightly.
The Conference Board's May survey placed confidence at 76.2, its highest level since February of 2008. CEA's overall Index of Consumer Expectations, however, saw confidence dropping 2.9 points from April.
Meanwhile, the CEA Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) dropped slightly as well.
