More Trouble for 360: An Overheating Wheel
Less than two months over taking a $1 billion charge related to its “Red Ring of Death” error message, Microsoft is now facing another calamity related to the Xbox 360: A steering wheel accessory that overheats.
According to an AP story published Thursday, Microsoft has admitted that the AC adapter connected to its Wireless Racing Wheel controller, which is used for various auto racing games, has a propensity to overheat. Reportedly, some have even released smoke.
The software giant said that it is safe to continue using the controller through battery power, and the company is making a “retrofit” available to customers through its Web site.
