Nationwide Adds Samsung, Dealers Await More Details
Nationwide Marketing Group has added Samsung’s line of LCD TVs and assorted electronics to its line card. Dealers, who were attending the buying group’s Prime Time event this week in Dallas, said the addition could help boost their offerings, but they are reserving final judgment until they learn more about the margins, product exclusives and partner programs surrounding the line.
“If Samsung comes out with newer, higher-end TVs, I’ll take a look at it,” said Dave Harlow, president of Giant TV Home, a three-store chain in the Memphis area that focuses on higher-end clients. “If I can make some money on them, I’ll consider it. “
Giant TV already carries Pioneer, Sony, Toshiba, Hitachi, JVC and other brands, and makes especially strong margins on Pioneer Elite, Toshiba Cinema Series and Sony’s XBR models, Harlow said. “In general, Samsung will be good for the typical Nationwide dealer,” he said, adding that his store gets plenty of calls from consumers asking for Samsung TVs.
