Nationwide Says Business Is Booming
Bilas said the appliance business is strong because of the housing upturn. “New homes have new appliances,” he said. He said the group is acutely aware that it needs to market differently to millennials. “How they buy is different,” he said.
Frank Sandtner, executive vice president of member services, said Nationwide is getting its members up to speed and in the game on digital marketing. “We have a digital solution unparalleled and unequaled by anyone else,” he said. “Without adding resources to their own company, they could be involved in all [marketing] channels thanks to our programs. Banner ads, email marketing and landing pages are scary for businesses.” But Nationwide offers a turnkey solution to digital marketing that is paying dividends for its members, said Sandtner.
He said that the group is helping members get included in local directories and review sites like Facebook, Yelp, Apple Maps and Google. “We help our members on how to claim your listings,” he said. “It’s simple enough for even the smallest retailers to take advantage of our program.” He said the group is also helping its dealers optimize their websites for mobile.
