Netflix has announced plans to change pricing on rentals of Blu-ray Discs, in a response to rising demand for the high-definition technology.
According to the Associated Press, the rental service in late April will adopt a sliding scale in which customers paying $14 for the two-discs-at-a-time package will pay $3 for Blu-ray, while those paying $17 for three at a time will pay $4 more. Those paying more for more movies will pay even more.
Previously, Blu-ray renters were charged an extra $1 per month. The new regime will go into effect April 27.
