New Amazon Program Will Show Rival Retailers’ Prices
Amazon is now testing a new feature that will show users other sites where the same product is available at a different price, the AP reported Thursday.
The paid advertising program will drive traffic along sometimes to competing sites, always opening a new window to the other offer. Amazon has long sold sponsored links, but this is the first time prices have been included in the text.
The new feature is one of many of Amazon’s new strategies to increase profit margins; others include its new music download service.
