iDevices, the company behind the Switch product (which we’re in the process of reviewing, b-t-dubs), announced today the availability of a new product that can turn a standard household accessory into a connected device.
The iDevices Socket is WiFi light bulb adapter that simply screws into a standard light socket. From there, the user then screws a standard light bulb into the Socket device, and voila—their regular old light bulb has been given a new brain.
Using the same iDevices Connected app that they’re already using to control other appliances, the user can control their newly made smart light bulb in a number of ways. Socket lets the user dim their bulb, customize the color light right of the Socket, and use Siri voice commands to control the power and brightness of their lights.
