As expected, Apple announced a new line of desktop iMac computers Tuesday. The line is the first to feature Thunderbolt I/O technology and Intel's "Sandy Bridge" processors, as well as a new HD camera for FaceTime use.
The line starts at $1,199, with the highest-end model priced at $1,999.
"Our customers love the iMac's aluminum enclosure, gorgeous display and all-in-one design," Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said as part of the announcement. "With next generation quad-core processors, powerful new graphics, Thunderbolt technology and a FaceTime HD camera, we've made the world's best desktop even better."
