New MacBook Air, iPad Pro Announced at Apple NYC Event
A little over a month out from its big Apple Watch and iPhone launch event, Apple was back at it with another slate of new product launches. This time, though, the company made its way to the opposite coast to talk about some of the tools that its customers use to express their creativity: the Mac and iPad.
Apple had two major updates to talk about with regard to the Mac side of their business. One was a new Mac mini. Available now in a space grey finish to match the other new accessories from Apple, the new desktop computer got a number of big upgrades, including support for up to six cores, up to 64 GB of memory, and storage capacities up to 2 TB. Additionally, the Mac mini now has Apple’s T2 security chip integrated into the device—an update that was a theme across the product announcements on this day.
The Mac portion of the event was highlighted, though, by the new MacBook Air—the first major refresh of the ultra portable notebook since its launch back in 2010.
