New President for PMDA
The Photoimaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA) recently announced that its board of directors has elected Joellyn Gray as president. Gray is the director of marketing for Fujifilm’s Imaging Division, and will lead the PMDA’s mission of promoting imaging and providing a forum to involve member companies in charting the industry’s future.
In her role at Fujifilm Gray is responsible for consumer insight research, retailer marketing support and consumer programs designed to motivate digital printing at retail. She was a driving force behind the PMDA’s 2009 “Portraits of Love” project, which connected professional photographers nationwide with military families, whose loved ones were serving overseas, to send free family portraits to the deployed soldiers for the holidays.
“The PMDA has a long and rich tradition of serving the photo industry, and I’m extremely honored to serve as president of this prestigious organization,” Gray said. “The mass acceptance of digital technology and the creativity that it enables is creating substantial new opportunity in the market. My goal is to provide a stimulating forum for manufacturers and distributors in the photo industry to discuss new technologies, emerging consumer behavior and business opportunity. It is an exciting time to be in the photo industry and the PMDA genuinely reflects the industry’s new spirit of possibility.”
