New Relationships Worth the Lost Sleep
Most everyone in this industry works their tails off, logging in countless extra hours to hit a product launch; spending days on the road away from the family grinding out the trade show circuit, maintaining partner relationships or building new ones. At times, it never seems to end. So when the chance comes up to sneak away from the business crowd, call it a relatively early night and add a few hours to an already paltry night’s sleep, common sense should prevail. Yeah, right!
The Dealerscope and Epson crew recently through most common sense to the wind following the manufacturer’s launch in New York City of its new Ensemble front projector home theater system (which we featured in last month’s magazine and on www.dealerscope.com). The energy was too high following the rollout of an impressive solution, the company too good and the city too inviting (hell, it was New York!) to turn in early.
In an age where far too much communication is done through the faceless text of email, sometimes it pays off to go the extra distance to build solid, face-to-face relationships. We’re glad we did because we not only got some fun pictures and good memories from it, but we all made some lasting partnerships, which makes all the hard work and long trips worth it.
