New Report of Next iPhone: Cheaper, Not Smaller
Apple is considering making its next iPhone cheaper than previous versions, but not smaller, according to a report Friday, the latest in a series of media glimpses of what Apple is planning next.
Citing "people briefed on Apple's plans," the New York Times reported that Apple is weighing making the iPhone less expensive in order to make it more attractive than competing phones. However, contrary to previous reports, the company is not looking to develop a smaller device, with the next iPhone the same size as the iPhone 4, the Times said. Apple would make the iPhone cheaper to make by changing some internal components.
Apple is also planning to add voice commands to the iPhone, the report said.
