New Routes to Revenue (Top 50 Retailers)
Whether all these moves translate into increased sales, profits or both for this year's Top 50 remains to be seen. Some retailers have had good luck with similar initiatives. Over the last three years, for example, Good Guys has revamped its product mix to appeal to the top half of the CE market. In 2002, it closed seven under-performing stores. The chain hopes that, when this fiscal year ends, it will report an annual profit for the first time in seven years.
In compiling a listing of the Top 50 CE retailers in the United States and Canada, Dealerscope strives to give its readers the most specific information possible. We think you want to know how much the Top 50 consumer electronics retailers made in those regions overall, and how much they made from the sale of consumer electronics in particular. That belief affects what numbers we choose to report, and which we don't.
