Sanyo’s new PLV-Z5 LCD projector showcases an industry-highest 10,000:1 contrast ratio. The system also features a twin-iris system, another industry first that incorporates both a lens and lamp aperture. Inputs include two HDMI interfaces, two sets of component video connections, as well as a composite, S-video and D-sub 15 input. The PLV-Z5 can project a 100-inch image from 9.8 feet at 1100 ANSI. The projector’s 12-Bit Digital Processing IC enables a dynamic contrast ratio that adjusts to the inherent brightness or darkness of an image using the twin irises.
The PLV-Z5 is available now at an MAP of $1,695.00 (with a three-year warranty). A $200 mail-in rebate promotion will run until January 31, 2007.
