At Macworld Expo in New York City last week, Epson America Inc. introduced five new scanners, the Perfection 2450 PHOTO and the Perfection 1650 and the EPSON Perfection 1250 series.
The Perfection 2450 PHOTO is Epson's flagship consumer scanner. It has 2,400 x 4,800 dpi resolution, USB 2.0 and IEEE-1394 (FireWire) connectivity and a built-in 4" x 9" transparency adapter for scanning slides, transparencies and negatives. The scanner also employs Epson's Micro Step Drive technology, which features a precise stepper motor for the enhanced image detail. The Perfection 2450 will become available in October for $399 ESP.
