New Tech Products Take Inspiration From Wii
One of the noteworthy trends to emerge from last week’s International CES was the way that new products, inside and outside of the gaming sector, have taken inspiration from Nintendo’s ultra-popular Wii console. According to the Associated Press, numerous products that are on the way in 2008, from remote controls to computers to cell phones, is taking advantage of Wii-like technology, especially related to motion-sensing.
Such products include a prototype TV from JVC that can be turned on or off with certain hand movements; a Japanese-made cell phone featuring a Wii-like bowling game that uses hand motions, and a Windows-based computer in which motion-sensing functions as a sort of mouse.
