New Toshiba Laptop Will Have First HD DVD Re-Writeable Drive
Toshiba has achieved a first in the world of computing, putting an HD DVD-RW drive on a laptop. According to the blog Engadget.com, the company’s upcoming Qosmio G40 laptop will be equipped with just such a drive, along with 400GB of disk space and 4GB of memory.
Other features will include dual terrestrial HDTV tuners, and a 17- or 15.4-inch screen, with 2.2-GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 processor. It also weighs about 10 pounds.
The laptop will come at a suggested retail price of $3,530, and is scheduled to arrive in Japan for Christmas. No release date has yet been announced for the U.S. market.
