Product Placement Gets Own Web Site
Consumers wondering what brand of cell phone Gil Grissom was using on the latest episode of CSI may soon be able to answer their question with the click of a mouse. SeenON! (www.seenon.com) launches on November 15 with information on 7,000 brands from from over 600 shows covering such categories as clothing, furniture and CE. Users can search for products they’ve seen based on show, movie, actor or just the product itself.
Mike Fitzsimmons, CEO of SeenON! creator Delivery Agent, Inc., explains, “We believe that SeenON! revolutionizes almost all aspects of the e-commerce industry by bringing together an unparalleled critical mass of brands and entertainment content, a searchable database of celebrities and shows, shopisodes (shop- able video content) along with our exclusive Insider Blog, written by key insiders from some of the hottest properties.” The insiders in question include such luminaries as “Project Runway’s” Tim Gunn.
The Shopisodes, featuring both user-generated and studio-genreated content, will allow customers to interact with videos to find and purchase products. In addition, an interactive community encourages users to gab about products they’ve seen on their favorite shows, presumably once they get tired of talking about the shows themselves.
