Distributor is Robbed
A married couple was arrested this week and charged with burglary after they attempted to rob a Maryland electronics distributor. Police say the man and woman were found near Current Components, Inc. after the business was ransacked and an alarm went off, the Frederick News Post reported.
Best Buy Clerk Foils Robbers With Box Cutter
An employee at the Best Buy in Bradenton, Fla., scared off robbers by brandishing a box cutter. According to the local My Suncoast Web site, the employee was leaving work when he was jumped by one of the robbers, at which point he pulled the box cutter, causing them to flee.
Thief Falls While Fleeing Walmart
A man who had just robbed a Walmart in Pennsylvania slipped on ice and dropped a computer as well as other items he had just taken from the store. According to WMFZ, the man was able to jump into a waiting van and evade capture.
Arkansas Best Buy Theft
An 18-year-old Best Buy employee in Arkansas has been arrested and charged with stealing $10,000 worth of electronics from the store. According to the Associated Press, police say the employee stole most of the items while unloading them from trucks; they believe he stole of the items for cash.
