To complement the new DVD-Audio players, Pioneer launched a series of audio components capable of fully reproducing the DVD-Audio format's wider frequency range: a fully digital control amplifier (model C-AX10, 550,000 yen, US $5,241), a power amplifier with a signal-to-noise ratio of 125dB and channel separation of 115dB (model M-AX10, 450,000 yen, US $4,288) and a speaker system (model S-AX10, 480,000 yen, US $4,574) complete with a super tweeter capable of reproducing up to 120kHz frequencies.
Aiwa AM-F80 Portable MiniDisc Recorder
Aiwa introduced the AM-F80, a portable MiniDisc (MD) recorder designed to make recording and editing functions more convenient. The AM-F80 features inputting MD titles while recording, a one-point stereo microphone, an extended-time recording mode and synchro recording function from either digital or analog sources. The AM-F80's LCD display and remote control unit are backlit for greater ease of use, especially in the dark. Weighing 5.7 ounces including rechargeable battery, the AM-F80 is priced at 37,800 yen or US $360.
