The flat-panel TV maker Vizio announced Tuesday that it has signed LaDainian Tomlinson, the San Diego Chargers running back who was named the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player last season, to an endorsement deal. The running back will appear in print and television advertising, while also making personal appearances at events. The television ads will feature Tomlinson speaking about his various life experiences; during one, already filmed and soon to debut, the running back will be seen in front of his Vizio, watching a Texas Christian University football game. Tomlinson played at TCU from 1997 to 2000, and as part of his deal with Vizio, he and the company will donate “Vizio Education Centers” to non-profit organizations. The first presentation was held at Como Community Center, in Fort Worth near TCU.
Tomlinson is the first major celebrity to endorse Vizio.
