Niles Donates Gear to Atlanta’s EcoManor “Green” House
“Green” continues to be one of the hot buzzwords (and concepts) of 2007, and for savvy dealers and manufacturers, there’s really no negative connotation or risk involved in associating with the term (at least not yet). This week, manufacturer Niles Audio, “in an effort to support the practice of green building across the United States,” said it donated loudspeakers, volume controls and other audio equipment to Atlanta’s EcoManor house, billed as “the first U.S. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified residence.”
Niles donated 17 in-ceiling and in-wall loudspeakers, OS weatherproof indoor/outdoor loudspeakers, a systems integration amplifier, a loudspeaker selector and 11 volume control systems.
Interior Media, a longtime Atlanta Niles dealer, is handling the installation of the Niles products. In February, Crestron announced that Interior Media had installed a “green” energy system at EcoManor that monitors utility usage and manages lighting, climate control, security and water collection via a 15-inch Crestron touchpanel.
