Nintendo To Begin Offering Downloadable Wii Content
America’s most popular gaming console is about to get another big new feature, with the news that downloadable add-on content will soon be available on the Nintendo Wii. The move was announced Friday at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco by project manager Takashi Aoyama, Wired.com reported.
The move, meant to compete with similar services already offered by Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360, will allow customers to purchase additional content, such as new songs in “Guitar Hero” and or “currency’ in other games, using “Wii Points,” which can be purchased by credit card. No date was given for the introduction, only that it will arrive “soon.”
