Phone of Glass: Luna Phone On Deck From Nokia
Nokia this week announced the impending availability of a new high-end cell phone, ialled the 8600 Luna, which represents one of the company’s first uses of glass in a phone product.
Utilizing glass and stainless steel, the Luna will sport a unique look, and features a “pulsating illumination” whenever it receives a call. The phone also boasts a two-megapixel camera, a music player, and a micro-USB port, which is a first for Nokia. The phone will be available “later this summer some time,” at Nokia retail locations as well as some Internet retailers, Nokia spokesman Keith Nowak said. It is expected to retail for around $800, Nowak said.
Nokia also introduced two other new phones overseas, the Classic and Slide, but neither is expected to become available in the U.S., Nowak said.
