Nokia Returns to North America With 4G Lumia 900
Nokia Monday announced its full-on return to the North American market with the unveiling of the Lumia 900, a Windows Phone LTE smartphone that will be exclusive to AT&T in the U.S.
The new phone features front- and rear-facing cameras and is the only smartphone that features Carl Zeiss camera optics. It sports a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen and access to special apps from ESPN, CNN, EA and other vendors. The Lumia 900 will be "aggressively" priced, but Nokia did not announce a specific price point.
The company's CEO, Stephen Elop, sought to emphasize the need to win the "war of ecosystems," in which it will square off with Apple and Android devices. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer also joined the presentation, during which he spoke of the companies' desire to establish a "strong third ecosystem."
