North Kicks Off Pop-Up Tour for Focals
Not long ago, we made the short trek from Philadelphia to Brooklyn to get a look at the shopping experience created by North for their recently-launched Focals smart glasses. The initial trip up and subsequent return stop for the final fitting weren’t much of a hassle, all things considered. But North understands that having two showrooms—in Brooklyn and Toronto—isn’t going to cut it when it comes to getting their name out their and getting their smart glasses on more people’s faces.
With that in mind, the company announced a 15-city summer tour that will bring pop up stores into consumers’ back yards from coast to coast, as well as up in Canada. The tour kicked off on June 3 with the first stop in Vancouver, and each stop along the way will be anywhere from four to six days long. Some of the dates overlap as well, which tells us that North has a few teams out on the road to bring their product to the people.
In a statement, North mentioned that the decision to expand their summer pop-up showroom tour came after the company experienced a sold-out West Coast tour earlier this year. At the pop-up experience, customers can demo Focals, see how the smart glasses send and receive messages, hail an Uber, enable Amazon Alexa features and commands, get calendar updates, and more.
