iPhone 4 is Still Top Phone
Apple's iPhone 4 is still the top mobile phone in the U.S. market, while Apple has moved into third behind Samsung and LG in overall mobile phone market share. That's according to first quarter numbers released Thursday by NPD Group.
It also marked the first quarter in which smartphones crossed the 50 percent mark of overall mobile phones domestically.
Samsung has 23 percent of the market, LG 18 percent and Apple 14 percent, followed by HTC, Motorola and Research in Motion. The two most popular individual phones are the iPhone 4 and 3GS, followed by the Motorola Droid X, HTC EVO 4G, and HTC Droid Incredible.
