NPD Group Expands Checkout Tracking Service with New Information for Technology and Apparel
The NPD Group, a global information company, has launched Checkout Tracking, a new service for technology and apparel that measures consumer buying and behavior at the market basket-level, based on receipts for both online and brick-and-mortar retail purchases, the company explained. And, in addition to the new services, NPD said it offers Checkout Tracking for foodservice, mobile games, and retail.
The new technology and apparel services provide clients with “an omni-channel view of purchasing, down to the subcategory and brand level,” NPD Group explained. Data that the company makes available through Checkout Tracking includes total consumer spend and share of wallet by retailer, category, or buyer group. Data is delivered through syndicated dashboards for “easy access to critical information.”
NPD Group said that marketers and manufacturers can use Checkout Tracking data for competitor analysis, new product development, marketing strategy, and retailer collaboration.
