October Retail Sales Reportedly Sluggish
U.S. retailers reported a sluggish October, negatively affecting the outlook for the upcoming holiday shopping season, the AP reported Thursday.
According to analysts quoted in the report, the weak sales can be attributed to economic pressure heading into the holidays. Also partially to blame: warmer weather, which depressed sales of winter clothes, with tighter credit and climbing gas prices also taking some blame.
As of today, Black Friday is three weeks away, while Christmas itself is seven weeks away.
