Oculus Rift Headed For Consumer Market in Early 2016
The Oculus Rift virtual reality display first surfaced, in prototype form, with a Kickstarter campaign in 2012, with word of mouth building over the ensuing two years. It won the Best in Show award at CES in January 2014, two months before its parent company was acquired by Facebook for around $2 billion.
Now, we're finally going to see the Oculus Rift on the consumer market- in early 2016.
On its official blog Wednesday, Oculus announced that the Rift will finally ship in the first quarter of 2016, while also providing a "first look."
