Odyssey Shows Off Augmented Reality Series, Eye Massager at CE Week 2019
Odyssey Toys is known for creating truly unique, high tech toys that fall under several different STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) learning categories. A number of their products are designed for use with smartphones and other devices including the Mobile Arcade Virtual Racer and the Upshot Smart Bow and Arrow Gaming System, both of which were on display at CE Week 2019. These two products are part of Odyssey’s augmented reality series that turn your mobile device into a fully-functional video game controller.
The Mobile Arcade comes with a small car that affixes to the bottom of any mobile, tablet, IOS or Android device. After attaching the car using the non-stick adhesive, users can access one of the free apps that pairs with the Virtual Racer and use their fingers to sprint, jump, and maneuver around the racetrack. While collecting coins and avoiding obstacles, the Mobile Arcade emits powerful vibrations to fully immerse users in a 3D experience
The Upshot Bow and Arrow offers another style of virtual reality gaming with a very convincing-looking 15-inch bow. With your smartphone at the center, you can aim and shoot the same way you would with a real-life bow and arrow. The many apps that pair with Upshot make for some interesting targets including ducks, zombies, and dragons.
And while Odyssey has a way of bringing out the kid in all of us, they also had something geared more towards adults at CE Week 2019: the new wireless eye massager. With five different massage modes and heat compression, the eye massager provides comfort and may also help relieve migraines. To offer even more relaxation, the Bluetooth connection can play music or soothing sounds for a spa-like experience.
The Mobile Arcade and Upshot are both available now through select retailers, and the Eye Massager will be coming to retail soon.
