Black Friday Customers Shop For Themselves
Of the customers who plan to shop over Black Friday weekend, two thirds say they'll be shopping for themselves. That's according to a survey released this week by Consumer Reports, which also found that just as many customers expect to shop on the Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend as they do on Black Friday itself.
Consumer Reports also found that 70 percent of consumers have electronics on their list for Black Friday, just narrowly behind the most popular item category (clothes.) And of those planning to buy CE, 78 percent of customers plan to buy as a gift, while 55 percent will buy for themselves.
In the CE category, the survey found video games and gaming accessories were the most popular item (with 46 percent expressing interest), followed by mp3 players, gaming consoles, computers, digital cameras and TVs.
