Apple Kills "I'm a Mac" Campaign
One of the most ubiquitous advertising campaigns of the decade has come to an end, with Apple's decision this week to pull the plug on its long-running "Get a Mac" campaign.
The campaign, which debuted in 2006, featured banter between actor Justin Long (the "Mac") and humorist John Hodgman (the PC). According to MacRumors, Apple pulled the past commercials of the campaign from its website this week. Nearly 40 separate ads were aired during the campaign's three-year run.
The last "Get a Mac" ads ran last October. Most of Apple's advertising in recent months has focused on the iPad and iPhone.
