After weeks of teasers, OnePlus officially announced the OnePlus TV Q1 series which includes a standard and Pro version. The company’s flagship smart TV features a 55-inch, 4K QLED panel with a “nearly bezel-less screen,” according to OnePlus. There’s also support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, four HDMI 2.0 ports offering a range of connectivity options, and built-in WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. But one of the most prominent aspects of the TV is its color range. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau says the TV’s dedicated picture processor, the Gamma Color Magic, brings “best-in-class image quality” compared to other QLED TVs.

As for audio, the OnePlus TV Pro offers a 50-watt, eight-speaker setup consisting of four full-range front-facing speakers, two front-facing tweeters, and two rear-facing subwoofers. A “surreal surround sound experience” is also provided by the device’s speaker bar that descends from the bottom of the TV. When it’s not in use, the speaker bar tucks away neatly into the body of the TV.
As previously announced, the device will run on Android TV to remain consistent with the company’s lineup of smartphones. Users can choose to navigate the OnePlus TV with its Apple-esque remote, voice assistants Alexa and Google Assistant, or through the OnePlus Connect app. Aside from allowing users to input text and switch between apps, OnePlus Connect will automatically reduce the volume on the TV when it detects a phone call.
To start, the OnePlus TV Q1 series will only be available in India with the OnePlus TV Q1 priced at INR 69,000 ($985) and the OnePlus TV Pro running INR 99,900 ($1,407). There’s not definitive timeline for when OnePlus plans to bring its TV elsewhere but Lau says, “we are also working hard to launch OnePlus TV in North America, Europe and China regions as soon as we establish partnerships with most of local and regional content providers.”
