OnForce Expands Retailer Installation Services
OnForce also added a stringent seven-year background check system to which providers opt-in. Buyers can limit their work orders to providers that have opted for the background checks. In addition, every certification a provider adds to their profile is checked before it appears live on the site, to ensure that anyone who says he’s CEDIA-certified really is.
In addition, OnForce launched a new profile system that “scores” installers, similar to how Google ranks its search results. “It takes into account how good a fit they are with the needs that you have,” Nadjarian said. “Certifications, history, location, familiarity, all that goes into a score and then we publish that and rank providers by that score,” he said.
Mauzy admits that hiring someone he has never worked with gives him pause, but he considers it akin to sending a new employee from any company to work on a site. To weed out the inexperienced, Mauzy has created a checklist that installers must fill out, including information such as what kinds of tests they should run before leaving the site. “When the provider arrives, he knows exactly how to address the customer,” he said. “They understand the nuances.”
