Panasonic announced last week that it will establish a Global Consumer Research Center in Japan by early next year, meant to create and develop new products that meet with local needs.
The center, to be located in Osaka, is meant to help make Panasonic the top green innovation company in CE by 2018, as part of the newly announced mid-term management plan called GT 12.
In addition, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Panasonic will invest more in rechargeable batteries, solar panels and other green products, with less capital spending on other home electronics.
