Panasonic Introduces Three Cameras, New Plasma For Mayor
Panasonic Tuesday announced the release of a trio of digital cameras under its Lumix brand. The cameras, marketed under the names DMC-FZ18, DMC-FX33, and DMC-FX55, will be available in September. All three cameras come equipped with the intelligent scene selector, face detection system, and continuous auto-focus features. They also all feature the Intelligent Auto Mode feature.
The FX33, with a price tag of $299.95, boasts a 2.5-inch LCD screen, while the FX55, which will retail for $349.95, has a 3-inch screen. On the FZ18, which retails for $399.50, the LCD screen is 2.5 inches as well, and boasts an 18x optical zoom.
Also this week, Panasonic announced that it had installed a 103-inch 1080p plasma HDTV in New York’s City Hall. The set was installed in Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s “bullpen” office, where it will be used to update the mayor on news, traffic, and 311 call statistics.
